We all get one chance to create our masterpiece. From our first draw of breath to the moment of our last exhale our masterpieces are being composed. Maybe the past is full of violent brush strokes, dark colors (maybe the entire canvas is wrecked, torn, frame broken) from an unimaginable past with an unbearable present moment. The future, tomorrows colors, tomorrows creation doesn’t have to be the same old thing. Pick up a new color, paint a new story, paint your legend.
Your canvass may be wrecked but it can be mended, it can be painted over and over until it is the version you want to be remembered by. Your impression left on this world may live on well beyond your ending, leave a masterpiece behind that you will be satisfied with. Pour yourself into the canvas, start over with a new color, stretch more canvas over the frame, flip the painting over and start working on the back, the point is – do whatever it takes to develop your story into something that completes you. Everyone’s story is different, some crave comfort while others seek a challenge, some are perpetually lost while others systematically harbor safety in repetition. Taste the life you want and then devour it!
Add to your masterpiece daily, do the work, put in the time, put in the care, do it for others and do it for yourself. If your stuck using grey to paint with, cut it out now. Get uncomfortable (you have my permission), dip your pinky toe into some crimson red and get to work! No exceptions, no excuses, no regrets. Overcome the ape.
