Do You Have The Guts To Fail?
Most of us have the talent to succeed at anything we set our sights on. Developing that talent and clenching your teeth around grit and determination to achieve is something else altogether. If you want something different in life or something more from life, start developing the talent to do so. Practice, fail and repeat relentlessly. Your life will move in the direction others expect it to or in the direction you force it.
You must have the stomach to fail often and fail big! This is where your growth occurs, through consistently not giving up. It’s a bitter pill to swallow but a necessary one. You may need to switch gears, change directions, learn a new approach, start from scratch (more than once) – you must have the guts to fail. You will become an expert at what you pursue over long periods of time. Fear will raise its ugly head and implore you to take it easy, to rest, to wait until tomorrow, this is when your grit and determination must kick in. Most people stop at fear or fail to recognize fear and choose the comfort of what they have as compared to others versus what they want for themselves.
Again, do you have the guts to fail? It's not a pretty process but the only way to get experience. No one wakes up a Michael Jordan, they commit for years to beat themselves in the pursuit of the unaccomplished. What’s considered impossible only remains that way until one of us humans makes it possible. No exceptions, no excuses, no regrets. Overcome the ape.
