A lifetime of misery tied to your waist will weigh you down, stop you in your tracks as the light at the end of the tunnel fades to black. Some say misery is the great motivator. It typically takes getting to the true bottom of misery and then digging deeper until you hit anger before the motivation kicks in. The stress of changing must be less than the stress of wallowing in misery. We tend to take the path of least resistance. Emotional discomfort and misery can devastate us, wrap its thorny vines around us and overwhelm our entire existence and yet still not be enough pain to motivate us to change.
We can be emotionally unsatisfied with life while relishing in the lack of action not taken to help ourselves. What a mindfuck. It is possible to become numb to misery, even become comfortable in misery. When misery does not motivate, what do you do? There are numerous options out there, find them. Expose your buried feelings, keep them raw, take action. Do whatever you have to do to get very uncomfortable with misery.
Death is coming for us all, go to her satisfied, not miserable. Go to her exhausted, spent, with teeth gnashing. We all rise and we all fall, while you still have breath, fight! No exceptions, no excuses, no regrets. Overcome the ape.
