Hi.

Hello, my name is Joshua Moore. Welcome to my blog. I write about life and its grind. Hope you find inspiration here as you overcome the ape.

Why Try?

Why Try?

Why should you work hard when everyone around you doesn’t have to? Better yet, some of your co-workers that do far less than you get paid more than you. The co-workers even show up to work late if they show up at all, they take long breaks and generally talk all day instead of working. So I ask again, why should you work hard and follow the rules when so many others don’t? It seems like an unfair situation. This situation can be applied to any circumstance in life, why try when others don’t. I have heard this throughout my entire career and never understood it. I still don’t understand it.

No one is a product of circumstance, we are all products of our decisions. If you don’t work hard or try to surpass others efforts, your potential will never be recognized or realized. Why would anyone want this for themselves? If it's easy to work circles around everyone, do it! Get recognized for it and position yourself to be considered invaluable. If your circumstance does not allow you to make positive changes in your position, then move on. It doesn’t make sense to do less because others do, in any situation ever. Doing less will always result in accomplishing less in your personal life.

You get back what you put in typically. If you are truly getting nowhere, it's up to you to create the change you think you need. Confront your boss or find a new job but don’t cheat yourself by refusing to succeed because others don’t succeed. No exceptions, no excuses, no regrets. Overcome the ape.
